At the start of my photographic career I was a photojournalist on daily newspapers for a number of years. Recording events and people’s stories continues to be a passion of mine.
I’ve been involved with a number of humanitarian organisations documenting their tireless efforts, often in countries where the need is greatest. In 2015, in my own country, I published a photographic book “Please Demolish With A Kind Heart”, recording the devastation of the Christchurch earthquakes from 2010 and 2011. The book received much media attention, particularly around the works on the ruins of Christchurch Basilica. Then, in 2017, the book was awarded the Photographic Book of the Year from the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography.
